Domain Authority Checker

Full authority report for any website: authority score, PageRank, rank, referring domains, SEO score, domain age, SSL and hosting.

What is domain authority?

Domain authority is a score that estimates how strong a website is in search, based mainly on how many other websites link to it and how authoritative those sites are. URLMode reports it on a 0–100 scale from Open PageRank, together with the domain's SEO score, age, SSL and hosting.

The 12 metrics in the report

  • Authority Score, Open PageRank, Global Rank and Referring Domains — the link strength of the domain from Open PageRank.
  • 12-Month Trend and Peak PageRank — whether the domain is gaining or losing authority.
  • SEO Score — our 21-check on-page audit of the home page.
  • Domain Age and Expiry — from WHOIS/RDAP registration data.
  • SSL Certificate, Hosting and Server Country — live checks of the server.

How to use an authority check

  • Benchmark competitors — compare the top 10 results for your main keyword with your own site (use the DA PA Checker to compare many at once).
  • Vet link and guest-post opportunities — relevance matters most, but a site with real authority, a valid SSL certificate and a long history is a better partner.
  • Track progress — check your own domain each month; a rising trend means your link building is working.
  • Due diligence when buying a domain or website.

Authority myths

  1. "Google uses Domain Authority." It does not; authority scores are third-party estimates.
  2. "Higher authority always outranks lower authority." Relevance and content quality often win, especially for long-tail queries.
  3. "You can buy authority." Services that inflate scores with spammy links can damage your real rankings.
