What the checker shows
| Metric | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Authority score (0–100) | Open PageRank × 10 — overall link authority of the domain |
| Open PageRank (0–10) | PageRank-style score calculated from Common Crawl link data |
| Global rank | Position among all ranked domains (1 = strongest) |
| Referring domains | How many different websites link to the domain, weighted by authority |
Enter several domains (up to 20) to compare them side by side, sorted from strongest to weakest, with the strongest, weakest and average authority at the top. For a deep report on one site — 12-month trend, SEO score, domain age, SSL certificate and hosting — use the Domain Authority Checker; to compare referring domains with competitors, use the Backlink Checker.
What is a good authority score?
| Score | Typical site |
|---|---|
| 0–20 | New sites, small blogs and local businesses |
| 20–40 | Established niche sites with a steady link profile |
| 40–60 | Strong brands and popular publications |
| 60+ | Major media, universities, government and global platforms |
The scale is logarithmic, so moving from 20 to 30 is much easier than from 70 to 80. Compare yourself with the sites that rank for your keywords, not with Wikipedia.
DA, PA and authority scores
"DA" (Domain Authority) and "PA" (Page Authority) are Moz's names for link-authority scores. Ahrefs (Domain Rating), Semrush (Authority Score) and Open PageRank measure the same idea with their own link indexes, so their numbers differ. None of them is used by Google; they estimate how strong a site's link profile is.
How to raise your authority
- Publish genuinely useful resources people want to cite (data, tools, guides).
- Earn links through digital PR, partnerships and guest expertise — not paid link schemes.
- Fix broken backlinks by redirecting old URLs (see the Redirect Checker).
- Strengthen internal linking so authority flows to important pages.
Open PageRank data is updated monthly. Each visitor can check a generous number of new domains per day, and re-checking a domain is free.
Frequently asked questions
Is this DA PA checker free?
Yes. It is free with no sign-up, and you can compare up to 20 domains in one check.
Is this the same as Moz Domain Authority?
No. Moz DA is calculated from Moz's own link index. This tool uses Open PageRank, a free authority metric built from Common Crawl data, so the numbers differ but measure the same idea.
What is a good authority score?
It depends on your niche. Compare your score with the sites ranking for your target keywords; beating them matters more than any absolute number.
How often is the data updated?
Open PageRank is recalculated monthly. The report shows the date of the data it uses.
Why is my score 0?
New domains and sites that no other websites link to are not ranked yet. The score appears once other sites start linking to you.
